At-home Recipes to Make You Think You’re Eating at the DCT Pre-Covid

Do you miss eating at the DCT? We at the Spoke most certainly do and now that Emory plans for students to return to campus next year, we are ecstatic to see Pasta John & co. so soon! We compiled  our staff’s favorite meals from the past couple years and are informing you how to prepare them at home!

  • Grape Pizza: It is exactly like it sounds with only one caveat. The pizza you use must be exactly one day old. If it is fresh, it does not taste the same. Take some day old cheese pizza, throw some red grapes on it, and slide that baby into your oven at 375 for 10 minutes. Voilà!
  • Blueberry Glazed Chicken: This meal is utterly delectable. What you must do is mash a bushel of blueberries and hand remove the seeds. Allow the blueberry mash to stand while you move onto the next step. Buy a rotisserie chicken, literally any rotisserie chicken. The final step is to dump that blueberry glaze all over your rotisserie chicken and slide that baby into your oven at 375 for 10 minutes. Voilà!
  • Grilled Chicken: This is a fun one. Travel to Springer Mountain Farms. Request exactly 3 chicken breasts. Traverse back to your humble abode. Dry the chickens in your warmer drawer for 2 days. Do not season these chickens under any circumstance. Finally, slide that baby into your oven at 375 for 10 minutes. Voilà
  • Coke Glazed Spiral Ham: Buy a spiral ham. While you are at the supermarket, buy one 12 oz Coca-Cola can and a gram of cocaine from that one shopping cart gathering guy. Take the cocaine and spritz it on the ham. Make sure to use the whole gram! Move the ham around so there is an adequate amount of cocaine across the circumference of the ham. Crack open that 12 Coke and pour the whole can on the ham. Finally, slide that baby into your oven at 375 for 10 minutes.  Voilà
  • Eggs: Get a white bucket, a shit ton of eggs, and a massive spoon or stick. Take your shit ton of eggs, crack them all, and dump them into the bucket. Use your massive spoon or stick and scramble the eggs. Put salt, pepper, and milk intermittently while your scramble. Finally, slide that baby into your oven at 375 for 10 minutes. Voilà! *For most accurate imitation, make sure they are runny!
  • Eggs Recipe 2: Get a white bucket, buy powdered eggs. Pour water in that bucket. Finally, slide that baby into your oven at 375 for 10 minutes. Voilà! *For most accurate imitation, make sure they are runny!
