Do you ever feel like a plastic bag drifting through the wind wanting to start again? Do you ever feel, feel so paper-thin, like a house of cards one blow from caving in? Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Caught in a landslide. No escape from reality. Open your eyes. Look up to the skies and see. Just a small town girl livin’ in a lonely world. She took the midnight train goin’ anywhere Just a city boy born and raised in south Detroit. He took the midnight train goin’ anywhere.

I know it breaks your heart. Moved to the city in a broke down car, and four years, no calls. Oh, is it too late now to say sorry? Yeah, I know that I let you down. Is it too late to say I’m sorry now?

Oh, baby, baby, how was I supposed to know that something wasn’t right here? Every step I’m taking, every move I make feels lost with no direction. My faith is shaking. They say that time’s supposed to heal, yeah, but I ain’t done much healing.

To all your friends you’re delirious, so consumed in all your doom. Trying hard to fill the emptiness, the pieces gone left the puzzle undone. Ain’t that the way it is. Your mother warned you there’d be days like these. But she didn’t tell you when the world has brought you down to your knees.

Hey, hey, hey, just think while you’ve been getting down and out about the liars and dirty, dirty cheats in the world you could have been getting down to this sick beat.

Tonight, we are young, so let’s set the world on fire. We can burn brighter than the sun.

My power flurries through the air into the ground. My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around, and one thought crystallizes like an icy blast: I’m never going back; the past is in the past!

But, don’t lose your grip on the dreams of the past. You must fight just to keep them alive. Some will win, some will lose. Some were born to sing the blues. Oh, you can dance; you can jive— having the time of your life. Here and now, it’s time for celebration. We finally figured it out, that all our dreams have no limitations; that’s what it’s all about.

We’re all in this together. Once we know that we are, we’re all stars. And, we see that we’re all in this together. And, it shows when we stand hand in hand. Make our dreams come true. You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I hope some day you’ll join us and the world will be as one.
