In a shocking turn of events, Kappa Alpha Theta sophomore Ashley Strong displayed an extreme act of bravery: on Friday night, she came out as bi-curious, again. In an inspiring display of courage, Strong stood on top of a table at the local Maggie’s Neighborhood Bar and Grille and told anyone sober enough to listen that she was ready to be open to experimenting with women.
“Her speech was really slurred and the music was really loud, so I couldn’t really hear her,” said Strong’s longterm boyfriend. “But I knew what she was saying because she does this pretty much every time she gets drunk.”
Wow! Not only did Strong step out of her comfort zone in front of all those people, it wasn’t even her first time doing so.
Strong herself reportedly does not remember the proclamation and denies making it. Perhaps it was the alcohol, but more likely it was an instance of the adrenaline rushing to her head from the big event. Regardless, even in her state of uncertainty, it was an undeniably daring act for Strong to put herself out there. Hopefully, it will encourage others who have been in the closet for too long to do the same.
