The gathering was very traditional, a classic Jenn blend of her Womens soccer friends and her new hybrid social circle of her freshman year floor/current roommate. Previous Jenn gatherings have featured an appearance by Jenn’s long-distance boyfriend, who’s notable absence triggered an appearance of Trevor. Trevor’s unpleasant demeanor was slightly forgiven after he presented a fresh Natural Light 30-rack, but ultimately could not excuse his insistence on discussing a shared history class.

The musical line up was a welcome departure from Jenn’s earlier playlist work, which often featured emotional Drake songs, and upon Jenn becoming slightly tipsy, Iggy Azalea on repeat. Luckily one of the soccer players hijacked the aux cable, and a fresh Kanye sound injected a sense of life into Jenn’s austere Clairmont abode, but a noise complaint forced the musical atmosphere to shift towards a low-volume remix.

Overall, Jenn’s event had a modest tone, and never tried to be something that it knew it couldn’t be. The Kevins of the world will still continue to throw their new-age house parties featuring obscure themes, and the Monica’s aren’t ending their Tour-De-Franzia birthday parties anytime soon, but for the average everyday party-goer, Jenn’s apartment party will satisfy those looking to indulge in a quintessential celebration.
