Last Friday, the Emory Student Programming Committee (SPC) hosted an evening of fun festivities on McDonough Field. Not only were students able to play games and socialize amongst themselves, but SPC was kind enough to provide food for the first seven students to show up! That’s enough people to make up slightly more than half of a soccer team! Students could choose between three delicious options for dinner: a slice of square pizza, a singular meatball, or a hamburger bun (unfortunately, the meat ran out before the event started).
“I’m shocked,” reported sophomore Rachel French, who was first in line for the event. “I know SPC always promises food, but I never thought I’d actually get to eat any!”
Junior Kevin Fry expressed similar excitement. “I’m blown away. It’s better than anything I expected,” he remarked after taking a bite of his meatball, “I’d give it a solid 5/10.”
“It just makes you appreciate how lucky you are,” added junior Mason Sideof, carefully guarding his square of pizza from the first-years roaming the grass like starving orphans from a Dickens novel. “I really can’t thank SPC enough. This must have cost tens of dollars!”
